Chris Francis first gained recognition as a musician by winning Guitarist Magazine’s Guitarist Of The Year title in 2000, having reached the finals in 1999. A former Yamaha endorsee, he has released two solo albums (Chris Francis, 2001, and Studs ‘n' Sisters, 2006), as well as the shred instructional video Up To Speed with Chris Francis (1999). Francis was lead guitarist in British melodic rock band TEN from 2002 to 2008, with whom he recorded three albums and undertook tours of the UK and Japan in addition to numerous festival appearances around Europe. Chris is an experienced music transcriber and has given many years to guitar teaching, having worked also as a session guitarist on pop and rock projects as well as performing on recordings for film and television. He has written one novel and many songs, and lives with his wife and four children in Oxford, where he is currently working on an album of original songs with vocalist Kane Chamberlain (The Juniper Club).
